Product marketing manager prepares the go-to-market strategy for the product considering inputs from the overall product strategy. The GTM strategy can be developed using a combination of the standard marketing mix of product, price, place and promotion.
The steps in defining GTM strategy include;
- Have a well defined value proposition and positioning for the product (typically part of product strategy).
- Select the segments of target market/customers and identify the channels and methods to approach them.
- Prepare plan of approach document.
Product Marketing Manager in collaboration with Product Strategist/head shall decide the different methods/channels for GTM.
